HOUSEHOLD ORGANICS RECYCLING PROGRAM REGISTRATION FORM

The collection site at the SMSC Organics Recycling Facility is open to registered Scott County residents only. After completing this form, you will be contacted to pick up your free starter kit, which includes program information, one food waste collection bucket, and 25 compostable food waste bags.


HOUSEHOLD ORGANICS RECYCLING PROGRAM RULES AND GUIDELINES

  1. Scott County residents must sign up online to participate in the program and to receive a free starter kit and participant card.
  2. Participant cards may only be used by the assigned household. Sharing of cards is strictly prohibited.
  3. Household organics must be bagged in a BPI-certified compostable bag, a paper bag, or no bag.
  4. Participants may only dispose of the allowable household organics as outlined in the list of acceptable and unacceptable items.
  5. To use the SMSC Organics Recycling Facility site for drop-off, participants must check in with the scale attendant inside of the scale house for participant card verification.
  6. Household organics must be placed in the appropriate organics dumpster—no dumping near the site is allowed.
  7. No dumping of trash or landfill waste.
  8. Violators of any of these policies may have their access to the site revoked.
